'People are often shocked to find out I'm almost 50' Liu Yelin 49 told MailOnline.

Ms Liu then shared with us her motto: 'If you think you look rough that's because you haven't sweated enough.'

She added: 'I feel like I'm still 15.'

Liu Yelin who is also known by her screen name Ye Wen was born in 1968 in Xinyang central China's Henan Province.

刘叶琳，也以她的昵称叶问为人所知，1968年出生于中国中部的河南省信阳市。

The confident and energetic retiree said her age-defying appearance has caused her headache. People who don't know her often mistake her son 22 for her boyfriend.

She does look good but to be totally honest its not that unusual on this side of the world. For some reason many many Oriental ladies age extremely well. I have lived here for almost 5 years and I can never ever ever guess a ladies age not that I would ever be so impolite as to say so out loud of course! This lady really isnt anything special. Wow I've never fully appreciated my mother's lack of vanity until just now. She's always been effortlessly beautiful (she rarely wears makeup or fusses with her hair) and now in her 50s she still turns heads in public every time we're out. How different our relationship would have been if she had thrived on that attention... I remember being so envious of her natural beauty when I was an awkward teen.
